If you want to apply a custom made cool bootscreen logo to windows vista SP1.. now you can do this in a few simple steps as follows...
What will you need? 1. Above (or custom made) 24 BMP file at 1024x768 res (please notice that my pack includes also a BMP for a widescreen monitors)[link]
2.A nice free small utility called Vista Visual Master (no other apps are currently working wit SP1) [link]
Instructions.. 1. Install Vista Visual Master 2. Run it as an Administrator (this is really important) 3. proceed to boot screen section on the left pane 4. browse for the picture i made for ya and which you`ve DL`ed from here 5. click GENERATE button and save the file to desktop with the name of "winload.exe.mui" 6. click Apply button 7. close the app still do not delete the file from desktop... 8. copy the file on desktop 9. navigate to windows/system32 10. find a folder called en-US 11.paste the copied file in there overwriting it 12. now navigate to windows/system32/and to coresponding to your language folder for instance fr-FR for french,de-DE german, pl-PL polish etc 13.and also paste the file in here overwriting the existing one (even if dialog says that they are both same size)
ALMOST DONE
now run/msconfig/boot and check no GUI Boot... and apply it..
Reboot and YEEEHAAA!!! here it is... a new nice custom design groovy jazzy bootscreen for Vista SP1...
Now when you know it is working you can easily make your own custom 24bit logos using your favorite pics )
